Create An Account


Step 1:
Click the "Free Sign Up" button on the main page.


Step 2:
Complete all fields in the account creation form and click the submit button.


Step 3:
After you click "Submit" AudioVine.com will send an email to the address you provided in the account creation form. You must click the confirmation link in the email in order to log in to your account. Once you click the link you will be brought to the login page. Enter your username and password and click "Log In".


Create An Artist Profile and Upload Music


Step 4:
Complete steps 1-3 in "Create An Account". After logging in, click the "Create Artist Profile" link in the header menu.


Step 5:
Complete all fields in the Artist Registration form. You will need to use the value you enter in the custom address field if you choose to install the AudioVine Storefront MySpace application (see next section for details).


Step 6:
After you submit the artist registration form you will be brought to a screen where you can enter additional artist information. Click the "Music" link when you are done entering artist information to upload music.


Step 7:
Enter a Song Title, Price, and any additional song information then click "Browse" to select the song you want to upload. You can upload MP3, M4A, MP4, OGG, WMA, and a few other formats but the file must be limited to 12 MB in size.

When you are done uploading songs click the "View Profile" link.




Set Up AudioVine Storefront on MySpace


Step 8:
From your artist profile page you should see the custom URL in the address bar. In this example the artist chose "mynewband" as their custom URL. You will need this to set up the AudioVine Storefront MySpace application once it has been installed.


Step 9:
Go to www.myspace.com/audiovinemusic and click the "Add this App" button to install the AudioVine Storefront application.


Step 10:
After installing the AudioVine Storefront go to your myspace profile. You should see the AudioVine Storefront with the "Set Up" form displayed like in the picture below. Enter the custom URL of your artist profile from step 8 (eg. "mynewband"). Click the "Submit" button to complete the installation of the AudioVine Storefront.


Step 11:
If you entered a valid custom URL then the application will display the songs available for the associated profile. At this point your Storefront configured and visitors to your MySpace profile can start downloading your music!

If you ever want to change the AudioVine artist associated with your AudioVine Storefront you can click the "change artist" link and enter a new custom URL. This might be useful if you were in more than one band for example.

What is AudioVine?

AudioVine is designed to expose the best of independent music. It was created by musicians as a tool to help your local music scene grow and become ever more inspired. We provide musicians with a powerful digital distribution channel that is cheap and easy to use. AudioVine is designed to help independent musicians reach new audiences by making it easy for people to discover the music they will enjoy. Fans will be able to stay informed of upcoming shows and new music. Of course, the easiest way to see what AudioVine is all about is to try it out.

How do I download music?

After creating an AudioVine account you will be able to start downloading free songs immediately. Your browser must be java enabled for downloads to work properly. Artists will determine how many points, if any, must be exchanged in order to download a song. If the artist requires that you exchange points for the download then you must first purchase AudioVine points. After you have purchased points then click on the green download button next to the song to initiate a download.

How does my digital download purchase benefit the artists?

Eighty percent of each sale goes directly to the artist. AudioVine offers a great way for you to show your support for local talent and independent musicians everywhere!

Is the music on AudioVine restricted by DRM?

No. AudioVine does not restrict your use of any of the content using DRM technology.

I get an error when I fill out a form. What is the problem?

First make sure you filled in all the required fields. Then make sure you aren’t using any illegal characters. The safest thing is to stick to only numbers and letters.

Where can I find out more about the legal details of the agreement between AudioVine and I?

The "Terms of Use", "Privacy Policy", "Peer-to-Peer Software User Advisory", "End-User License Agreement", and "Submission Agreement" (if applicable) contain the legal terms of the agreement between you and AudioVine. You must read and agree to the terms of the applicable agreements in order to use AudioVine. Click on the links at the bottom of any page to view these agreements. You should review these agreements periodically because they may need to be updated from time to time.

Can I use AudioVine.com if I am under 18 years of age?

If you are between the ages of 13 and 18 you must have your legal guardian accept all terms and conditions of the relevant user agreements in order to use AudioVine. You cannot use AudioVine unless you are at least 13 years of age.

How do I cancel my AudioVine account?

Before you cancel you should first contact support@audiovine.com so we can try to resolve any issues you have. If you still wish to cancel your AudioVine account click the "My Account" link in the AudioVine toolbar and then click the "cancel account" link. Please indicate why you chose to cancel your account so we can improve our service to you. If you are the sole administrator for a band and you cancel your account then that band’s songs will no longer be available for sale or download.

Artists

How much does it cost for me to sell my music on AudioVine?

You receive 80% of the sale price each time you sell a song. There is no cost for giving downloads away for free. There is no limit to the number of songs you can sell or give away! The other 20% goes to AudioVine in order to keep the service running. We try very hard to reduce costs and ensure that the musician keeps as much of their earnings as possible. AudioVine is one of the cheapest and most effective ways of distributing your music online!

How do I sell my music on AudioVine?

You must be a band "Administrator" to sell music. You may belong to more than one band so we allow you to be an administrator for multiple bands. For more on becoming a band administrator look at "What is a band Administrator?". You will see the bands that you are an administrator for listed in the top right of the welcome page when you log in. Next to each band is a button labeled "upload music". Click this button and fill out the form to upload new songs. After the song is uploaded, which may take several minutes depending on the speed of your connection, it will be listed and ready to be sold.

I don’t want to sell my music online. What does AudioVine offer me?

AudioVine offers you a FREE and effective way to gain publicity. We give you an artist profile that includes a photo, news/blog area, bio, gig calendar, and more. Use AudioVine to give away a few of your best songs and expose your music to a potentially huge number of AudioVine users! Remember, AudioVine charges you NO FEES for songs you give away!

What is a band "Administrator"?

A band’s administrators can upload music, remove songs, modify prices, and change the bands profile. You are automatically an administrator if you were the one who originally created the profile for the band. Only administrators can add new administrators. You must have a registered AudioVine account in order to become an administrator. If you want to become an administrator you must contact one of the band’s current administrators and have them add you as an administrator using your AudioVine login name (email address). Once they have added you as an administrator you will receive a confirmation email. After clicking the link inside the email you will gain administrative access to the bands profile and music.

How do I update my band’s profile?

Only administrators can modify a band’s profile (see "What is a band ’Administrator’?"). If you are an administrator then you can log in to your AudioVine account and click on the band whose profile you want to modify. From the band's profile you can click the [edit] links to modify the various sections. These links only appear for band administrators that are logged in.

Can I give away downloads of my music?

Yes, and we encourage you to do so. You will not be charged any fees for any song downloads that you give away for free. Take advantage of this and promote a couple of your best songs!

Can I use other services to sell my music in addition to AudioVine?

AudioVine places NO RESTRICTIONS on your ability to sign with record labels or use other services to distribute your music. You maintain the rights to your music!

I have made some sales, how do I get paid?

After your sales balance has reached $50.00 you can request payment using the ’payment request form’. You can find a link to this form in the song sales page. Any administrator can request the check and these requests are recorded and displayed in the song sales page. You may request payment no more than once every 90 days. You must earn at least $50.00 since your previous payment was requested before requesting another payment.
